Who, Me?
I'm Chris. I write ads and teach people how to write ads.
My path here was weird. I started out as an actor in LA, which led to bartending, which led to explaining how booze gets made to drunk people on distillery tours. Somewhere along the way, I realized I was pretty good at holding people's attention when they had every reason to tune out. That's advertising in a nutshell.
I've worked at Saatchi & Saatchi, RPA, Quigley-Simpson, and now I'm an Associate Creative Director at Charts+Darts. Some of the clients I’ve made stuff for include Honda, Toyota, Yokohama Tire, Ball Aluminum Cups, and Golden Eagle Vodka. (The distillery experience came in handy on that last one.)
When I'm not trying to convince people they need things, I teach at The Book Shop—a night school for working professionals who are looking to break into the wild world of advertising, but don’t want to shell out a fortune for a typical ad school.
When it comes to creative, I try to make stuff that sounds like a real person made it. That shouldn't be a differentiator, but here we are.
